Feedback and discussion is welcome but it has become necessary to set down some guidelines on how comments will be handled. My objective is for this site to be a place for open discussion about the technology issues on which I blog but please remember:

  • Keep it on topic.
  • Keep it respectful.
  • Keep it fun.
  • I can’t offer support to everybody on the Internet and although I’ll help if I can, I have a day job too!

Things that will lead to comments being edited/deleted include:

  • Offensive or abusive language or behaviour (if you feel that your point requires the use of strong language, you may use asterisks to mask your f***ing language, but no flaming – personal attacks against me, my family, my friends, or other commenters are forbidden).
  • Misrepresentation (i.e. claiming to be somebody you’re not) – if you don’t want to use your real name, that’s fine, as long as your “handle” isn’t offensive, abusive, or misrepresentative.
  • Anything illegal.
  • Blog-spam of any kind (even if your comment is relevant, I reserve the right to remove any link to your site if I consider it to be blog spam).

I hope these rules will keep the discussion lively and on topic.

Finally, please note that comments are owned by the person who posted them and I am not responsible for their content. In addition, if you leave a comment for search engine optimisation (SEO) purposes and then later decide it should be removed, I reserve the right to charge for my time, removing such links only after payment has been received.
