Currently employed as a Senior Customer Solution Architect for a leading IT services company, Mark Wilson has thirteen years’ experience of implementing and managing IT infrastructure projects within the United Kingdom, continental Europe and Australia.
Working both in-house and as a consultant, Mark has designed and implemented solutions ranging in scope from a few hundred to many thousands of users.

Mark has a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Studies, holds the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) and IDC/Alinean ValueExpert certifications, and was formerly a PRINCE 2 Registered Practitioner, with experience spanning a number of business sectors including retail, financial services, government, education, utility and services companies.
Client engagements have included:
- Technical Design Authority for one of the world’s first Microsoft Exchange 2000 implementations (4,000 users).
- Redesign of Active Directory and implementation of best practice policies for one of Australia’s largest magazine distribution companies.
- Technical Project Manager for a desktop and server infrastructure refresh involving 1000 users across Europe at a major fashion design, marketing and retail organisation.
- Implementation of the datacentre infrastructure for a major fashion design, marketing and retail organisation’s new European regional headquarters.
- Advice and guidance to a variety of clients in the implementation of standard operating environments for Microsoft Windows-based desktop and server systems.
- Definition of a delegation model to facilitate improved security in the administration of a 17,000-user Active Directory deployment at a major accounting firm.
- Design and ownership of a technical solution for the virtualisation of a significant proportion of a major accounting firm’s Windows Server estate as part of a major transformation programme in order to achieve significant reductions in the cost of hosting the service and to gain additional flexibility in operation of the infrastructure.
