During the three week wait to get the hardware repaired, I had installed Windows XP SP2 and as Stuart Preston reported on his blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/stuartpreston.net\/blog\/archives\/2004\/08\/xp_sp2_bluetoot.html\">the Dell drivers do not function correctly under SP2<\/a>, resulting in a requirement to use the native Microsoft drivers (which are less functional).<\/p>\n<p>A hunt around the <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.us.dell.com\/supportforums\">Dell Community Forum<\/a> revealed many unhappy users (bizarrely mostly blaming Microsoft for releasing SP2!), but no real solution until a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/\">Google<\/a> search came up with <a href=\"http:\/\/support.dell.com\/support\/topics\/global.aspx\/support\/kb\/en\/document?dn=1090448&amp;c=us&amp;l=en&amp;s=gen&amp;cs=\">Dell support document FA1090448<\/a> (a search of the Dell website had failed to locate this), pointing to <a href=\"http:\/\/support.dell.com\/support\/downloads\/format.aspx?c=us&amp;cs=19&amp;l=en&amp;s=dhs&amp;SystemID=INS_PNT_PM_600M&amp;os=WW1&amp;osl=en&amp;deviceid=3122&amp;devlib=5&amp;category=5&amp;releaseid=R82522\">an updated driver that seems to fix the problem<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following my previous post about the trouble I have had getting the Bluetooth hardware in my Dell Latitude D600 repaired, I then had to reinstall the Dell TrueMobile 300 Bluetooth driver.
