{"id":6540,"date":"2016-09-06T16:18:09","date_gmt":"2016-09-06T15:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.markwilson.co.uk\/blog\/?p=6540"},"modified":"2016-09-12T09:01:25","modified_gmt":"2016-09-12T08:01:25","slug":"microsoft-azure-urls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.markwilson.co.uk\/blog\/2016\/09\/microsoft-azure-urls.htm","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Azure URLs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been doing a lot of Azure reading recently and it struck me that there are many different URLs in use that would be useful to record somewhere.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/savilltech.com\/\">John Savill<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NTFAQGuy\">@NTFAQGuy<\/a>) has noted the main ones in his Windows IT Pro\u00a0post on <a href=\"http:\/\/windowsitpro.com\/azure\/azure-urls-whitelist\">Azure URLs to whitelist<\/a>\u00a0but I&#8217;ll expand on them here to highlight the purpose of each one (and to add some extras):<\/p>\n<h3>*.windowsazure.com<\/h3>\n<p>https:\/\/manage.windowsazure.com\/ is still used for the legacy (classic) Azure Service Manager (ASM)\u00a0portal. http:\/\/windowsazure.com\/ redirects to http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/<\/p>\n<h3>*.azure.com<\/h3>\n<p>https:\/\/portal.azure.com\/ is used for the Azure\u00a0Resource Manager (ARM) portal. http:\/\/azure.com\/ redirects to http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/<\/p>\n<h3>*.*.core.windows.net<\/h3>\n<p>This URL pattern is used for access to Azure Storage:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>File access: https:\/\/storageaccountname.file.core.windows.net\/sharename\/foldername\/foldername\/filename<\/li>\n<li>Containers in blob storage: https:\/\/storageaccountname.blob.core.windows.net\/containername\/blobname<\/li>\n<li>Table storage: http:\/\/storageaccountname.table.core.windows.net\/tablename<\/li>\n<li>Queue storage: http:\/\/storageaccountname.queue.core.windows.net\/queuename<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>*.cloudapp.net<\/h3>\n<p>Domain name used for cloud services.<\/p>\n<h3>*.azurewebsites.net<\/h3>\n<p>Domain name used for Azure App Service websites.
