{"id":7061,"date":"2017-05-12T12:00:14","date_gmt":"2017-05-12T11:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.markwilson.co.uk\/blog\/?p=7061"},"modified":"2017-05-11T21:48:50","modified_gmt":"2017-05-11T20:48:50","slug":"facebooks-restricted-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.markwilson.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/05\/facebooks-restricted-list.htm","title":{"rendered":"Facebook&#8217;s Restricted list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Imagine the situation, a\u00a0family member befriends you on Facebook and you foolishly accept, then find their replies on your posts to be inappropriate or annoying&#8230; after all, you can choose your friends but not your family, right?Well, it turns out that<\/p>\n<p>Well, it turns out that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/206571136073851?helpref=faq_content\">Facebook has a feature for situations like this &#8211; the Restricted list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/206571136073851?helpref=faq_content\"><p>&#8220;Putting someone on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/200538509990389\">Restricted list<\/a> means that you\u2019re still friends, but that you only share your posts with them when you choose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/help\/203805466323736?helpref=faq_content\">Public<\/a> as the audience, or when you tag them in the post.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if you&#8217;re friends with your boss and you put them on your Restricted list, then post a photo and choose Friends as the audience, you aren\u2019t sharing that photo with your boss, or anyone else on your Restricted list.
