Of course, James is right (<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/jamesone\/archive\/2007\/06\/19\/campaign-for-real-numbers-update.aspx\">he explains more in a recent blog post<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/ewan\/archive\/2007\/06\/27\/the-campaign-for-real-pedantry-erm-i-mean-numbers.aspx\">Ewan Dalton illustrates the issue a little more clearly in his post on the subject<\/a>) but so many numbers are written incorrectly &#8211; it&#8217;s not uncommon to see 0207 xxx xxxx (the area code is 020 and the 7 is part of the local number) &#8211; and advertising only national rate numbers (<a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/gp\/contactUsUK\/\">as Microsoft does<\/a> on it&#8217;s UK contact page) is not good practice either (another campaign related to phone numbers is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saynoto0870.com\/\">Say No to 0870<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>What I found particularly interesting is James&#8217; explanation of making a phone number appear as a link in the form of <a href=\"tel:+44-1234-567890\" rel=\"nofollow\">tel:+44-1234-567890<\/a> so that those with a supported dialler (like <a href=\"http:\/\/office.microsoft.com\/communicator\/\">Microsoft Office Communicator<\/a>) can click to dial (for further information, see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faqs.org\/rfcs\/rfc3966.html\">RFC 3966<\/a>).
