I’ve been having a lot of problems with this website recently. It crashes multiple times daily, for several minutes at a time.
I’m not a WordPress expert, but I turned on the debugging – and there is no debug.log file created in my wp-content folder.
The problems seemed to start when I followed the security advice to update the version of PHP in use. Now I’m going back to basics. I’ll start off with a basic theme – and if that doesn’t fix the issue then I’ll turn off all the plug-ins and re-introduce them one-by-one.
This will break things. Some pages won’t display as intended, some features may be unavailable. Frankly, the site doesn’t get enough visitors for me to worry too much about 2500 old posts, but I would like it to be reliable for the ones I do write occasionally.
Please bear with me. It may take some time to fix.
