Yesterday, I tweeted to see if anyone had any resources to help a non-programmer create a Windows Phone app (I haven’t written any code in anger since I graduated 18 years ago, although I did used to write Basic, 68000 assembler, Modula-2, Turbo Pascal, COBOL, C, and C++):

I got quite a few responses asking me to share the findings so here’s what’s been suggested so far:
- Free eBook: Programming Windows Phone 7, by Charles Petzold (thanks to Ravi Nar and Scotty McLeod – I think I may have tweeted that when it was released… not sure how I forgot it!)
- Some examples on (MSDN) Channel 9 Coding4Fun (thanks to Stephen Moody)
- Windows Phone AppHub Development QuickStarts and videos for beginners (thanks Thom McKiernan)
- And, if you want a simple “app” doesn’t need any coding, you could look at AppMakr (thanks to Nathan Mercer)
Now to find some time to make my application idea a reality…
